Neath and Pontardawe Policing Sector saw a 16.4% reduction in recorded crime during between March 1st 2011 and April 30th 2012 when compared with the previous financial year. This reduction in crime was the biggest across
Swansea, Neath and
Port Talbot and represents 721 fewer victims of crime within our communities.
Recorded crime levels for burglary to dwellings, criminal damage, vehicle crime and violence were all below the targets set by Police Headquarters for the period.
Despite the impressive reduction in recorded crime officers across Neath and Pontardawe detected over a third of the offences committed throughout the year, the second strongest policing sector, across Swansea Neath and Port Talbot, in this area.
The policing team here at Neath and Pontardawe will endeavour to improve on their current performance as we begin the new financial year.
