Operation Crystal - 110 and counting!!!

Over the past weekend officers from the Skewen & Dulais Valley Neighbourhood Policing Team seized the 110th vehicle as part of Operation CRYSTAL.
Since it was created in March 2010 Operation CRYSTAL has been targeting Road related issues in the Communities of Skewen and the
Dulais
Valley. During this period 110 vehicle have been seized by local officers for offences such as Driving without valid insurance and without a driving license.
During the past weekend 2 vehicles have been seized, 1 in the Seven Sisters area for no-insurance; however the driver also only had a provisional license.
And on Saturday officers continued their pro-active patrols, a un-taxed vehicle sighted in the Skewen area resulted in the driver being arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, the vehicle was also seized for having no insurance.
PCSO Dominic EDGELL said “Operation CRYSTAL continues to tackle road related issues, we have seen a drop in uninsured vehicles and we will continue our pro-active work to bring those to justice who continue to drive illegally”
