Rescuer receives royal honour

A Pontardawe man has recently been honoured for his work leading one of
Wales’s busiest rescue teams of volunteers.
Nigel Dawson is the leader of the Brecon Mountain Rescue Team he has been awarded the Queens Diamond Jubilee Medal as has others team members.
This team has carried out many rescue operations in the Brecon Beacons and in the Black Mountains around the
Amman and
Upper
Swansea
Valleys.
I am sure that all readers of this news story will wish the rescue team all their thanks for their unfaltering commitment in often terrible conditions regardless of the time of day for their services in helping total strangers injured or in distress on the local mountains.
