POLICE APPEAL - ASSAULT, MENDIP VIEW, BARRY
Police in Barry are appealing for information following an assault that took place at an address on Mendip View, Barry, on Tuesday 17th July.
The incident occurred at approximately 10:30am, when two men forced their way in to a house on the street and assaulted a 20-year-old man inside.
The 20-year-old man sustained minor head injuries as a result of the assault.
The two men were then seen to run from the property in the direction of Victoria Park.
The first male is described as Asian, in his late 20s, approximately 6’0” tall and of medium to large build. He was wearing a blue baseball cap, blue scarf and grey hooded top. He had a short, closely shaved beard.
The second male is described as Asian, in his late 20s, approximately 5’8” to 5’9” tall and of medium to large build. He had shoulder length, loose, curly hair and thin sideburns. He was wearing a grey bandana.
The men were both seen walking through Victoria Park via the Sea View Terrace entrance shortly before the incident occurred. One of the men was carrying a box approximately a foot square in size and wrapped in brown paper.
Police are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen the two men or anyone who may have any further information regarding the incident.
Detective Sergeant Julian Kerslake from Barry CID said: “I would like to reassure people that this was a rare and unusual occurrence and officers are continuing to carry out enquiries in the area as part of an ongoing investigation.
“The incident took place mid morning, therefore it is highly likely that members of the community who were out and about may have seen these two men and will have information that is highly valuable to our investigation.
“I urge anyone who did see the two men in the area, or anyone who may have further information, to contact the police.”
