Speeding Operation

On the evening of Wednesday July 14th Pyle Neighbourhood Policing Team conducted another mobile speed camera Operation in the Pyle, Kenfig Hill & Cefn Cribwr, with good results.
The first deployment was on
Marlas Rd, opposite the junction of
Collwyn Rd, from 2030 to 2055hrs. In total 78 vehicles were checked for speed and 3 persons were issued with warnings. The highest speed was 38mph.
Next was Pyle Rd (A48), near Pyle Police Station, from 2100 to 2125hrs. 63 vehicles were checked and 2 warnings were issued. One driver was clocked driving at 61mph and failed to stop for Officers, running a red light in the process. The driver was tracked within minutes and has been reported for the offences.
We then moved the camera up to
High St from 2135 to 2210hrs, firstly near the junction with
School Rd and then up to where
High St meets Cefn Rd. 53 vehicles were checked here and 6 drivers were issued with warnings. The fastest speed recorded was 56mph and the driver was traced and has received a Caution. If he is caught driving in the same manner again his vehicle will be impounded by Police.
The camera was then moved back to
Marlas Rd from 2230 – 2300hrs. 38 vehicles were checked and none were caught speeding.
