Jake Lynch Pcso for Riverside, Cardiff on Saturday 14th April completed the Marathon Des Sables known as the toughest foot race on earth by running 150 miles through the Sahara Desert carrying his kit and food for the 7 days duration and raising over £4000 for Facing Africa NOMA.

What is facing Africa NOMA? NOMA (cancrum oris) is an acute and ravaging gangrenous infection affecting the face. The victims of NOMA are mainly children under the age of 6, caught in a vicious circle of extreme poverty and chronic malnutrition.

Facing Africa NOMA provides funds so teams of Voluntary surgeons from the UK, Germany and Holland can visit Nigeria and Ethiopia, to perform reconstruction surgery on the victims of the disease NOMA, and the acquisition of related equipment for hospitals in Addis Ababa ( Ethiopia) and Sokoto.
