Caerau’s youths got into the Olympic spirit by taking part in a Basketball Tournament organised by staff at Noddfa, Caerau Neighbourhood Policing Team and Councillor Phil John. The event which took place on Thursday 9th August at Blaencaerau Ballpark, Caerau, was the first Tournament of its kind hosted in the area.
There were 5 teams with players aged between 5 and 16 years. PCSO Louise Thomas and her team won the overall Tournament and prizes were awarded for other outstanding performances such as best pass, best shot, best dribble and best player. PCSO Tom Davies said “It was a fantastic event with a great turnout. The kids who got involved really enjoyed and were very keen to learn some new skills from Councillor Phil John who gave a free basketball lesson before the tournament started.”
