Reminder about safe school parking in Llanishen
Police are reminding parents at Llanishen schools to park with care and consideration for pupils, local residents and other road users.
Concerns have been raised by Llanishen residents about inconsiderate and dangerous parking putting the safety of school pupils at risk.
PC Helen Abdullahi of the Llanishen Neighbourhood Policing Team said: "We want to encourage and educate drivers about inconsiderate and dangerous parking outside schools, posing a risk not only to school children but also to local residents and other road users”.
"Please take care when dropping off or picking up your youngsters and respect local residents by allowing a bit more time, parking a little further away from the school gates or consider other options such as walking or public transport."
“You
MUST NOT wait or park, or stop to set down and pick up passengers on school entrance markings when upright signs indicate a prohibition of stopping.”
PC Abdullahi added: "We hope that parents and guardians will take notice of the advice and help us keep the roads safe for children and others who are out and about at peak school times”.
Officers will be making spot checks on the area at peak times, at school start and finish times.
