Briton Ferry West ward covers
The Briton Ferry West ward is a mainly residential area bordered by the River Neath and Jersey/ Neath Canal to its west, the M4 and A48 to the south and the Swansea to London rail line to its east and north. The area has only two commercial premises both being newsagents/ grocers. It has three primary schools one of which is a welsh medium school. It also encompasses the Briton Ferry Port facility, the official and unofficial traveller’s sites below the M4 and a small industrial estate. It is a Communities First area and the organisation engages very actively with the local community. The area has a great community spirit which is evident in the many activities and events delivered by local community groups. The people of Briton Ferry West are friendly and prepared to assist in making their community safe and secure. Local officers are always able to find someone who is willing to make the effort for their community. This is why it is such a pleasure to police the area.
