PACT Projects

To view information on a PACT Project click the link. The current PACT Projects are:

Night Net and Business Crime reduction partnership.
In Neath town centre there is an ongoing project to combat shoplifting and violent crime such as assaults and public order. Persons that commit crime in the town centre whether it be in a licensed premises or a store will then be excluded from the premises that are part of the scheme. There are currently over 30 premises that are part of this which then allows them to share information with regards to these persons. All the premises are linked up to the CCTV cameras so that persons can be monitored if they are sighted in the town centre. Meetings are held on a monthly basis and in these meetings it is decided how long to exclude the persons for. The meetings also allow for the stores, CCTV operators and Police to share vital information. Photos are then distributed to the stores after the meeting so that they are aware of who the offenders are. This has proved highly successful with more than 100 persons currently excluded from both Neath and Port Talbot town centres.
