Onllwyn
ward covers
ONLLWYN is a small village in the Neath Port Talbot area of Wales near to the village of SEVEN SISTERS
ONLLWYN is also the name of an electrical ward and community coterminous within the village. The ward comprises the village of ONLLWYN itself and the adjacent parishes of DUFFRYN CELLWEN and BANWEN.
With over 200 years of coal mining firmly behind it, the parish was once home to five pits that employed hundreds of men. Now all that remains is a well hidden coal processing and washery plant known as 'The Washery'.
