Pelenna
ward covers
The Pelenna Ward incoporates the villages of Tonmawr and Pontrhydyfen.
It covers an area of 2,001 hectares. There are 494 households in the ward and the population at the last census was 1,173.
The actor Richard Burton was born in the ward and Ivor Emanuel was raised in the area.
Pelenna is the name of the river which flows for some 7 miles through both Tonmawr and Pontrhydyfen, before flowing into the River Afan.
