ward covers
Abercynon is a community and a small village at the foot of the Cynon Valley, in Rhondda Cynon Taf, Wales. As a community it contains the villages of Ynysboeth, Carnetown, Tyntetown and the village of Abercynon. It lies at the confluence of the rivers Cynon and Taff, approximately 15 miles north of Cardiff. There are memorials to Trevithick's journey which can be found outside the fire station at Abercynon.
