Penrhiwceiber is situated in the Cynon Valley within the county borough of Rhondda Cynon Taff adjacent to the communities of Miskin and Perthcelyn in Mountain Ash. The coal that formed the basis of the village has now gone, the scars of the pits and tips are slowly healing but the memories are still within the community.We have had assistance from South Wales Police, Communities First, Neighbourhood Renewal and other funding, the village is beginning to change with a new Medical Centre, Library, new children's play areas, a new Primary School and an annual carnival. Penrhiwceiber is served by Aberdare Valley lines train services as well as Stage coach and Glamorgan bus service.
