Penyrheol is a suburban district of Swansea. It is located 7 miles North West of Swansea City Centre in the North West of Gorseinon.
The area consists of the settlements of Penyrheol, Grovesend and Waungron.
Beyond these settlements, much of the area consists of essentialy low lying land, especially to the west, near the Loughor River.
The villages initially grew due to the industrial developments around the turn of 20th Century, including the opening of the Grovesend Steel and Tinplate works in 1900.
Prior to this there was mining in the Coalbrook area, with coal being transferred via a tramline, to boats on the River Loughor.
The next meeting is still currently being planned. Please check back soon for more information
