>> Street briefings and Town centre rally carried out this week - 02/06/2012

From PCSO Crowdey;

This week we have held street briefings as planned at Kingcraft Street and also through the town centre. We have been raising awareness and giving crime prevention adviceregardingmetal thefts as per our PACT priorities in this area. We have distributed information leaflets and many of these are now being displayed in shop windows throughout the town centre. At each street briefing, many residents came out to speak with us and we have also been running Operation Empire which consists of us patrolling school grounds and vicinities during evening times and school holidays. All of our local schools have been happy to come on board and assist us with this operation by allowing us access to patrol the grounds out of hours. This operation will be continuing right through the Summer time.

>> Raising awareness of metal thefts within our community. - 25/05/2012

From PCSO Crowdey;

This week, regular patrols of our town centre and surrounding areas have continued.  We have been in touch with all of our schools and have made arrangements for regular patrols of the school grounds outside of school hours including weekends and holiday times..  We are also in the process of co-ordinating street briefings in each of our neighbourhoods and leaflets and posters are being distributed over the next few days.  All of this community contact work is with regards to us raising awareness of recent metal thefts in this area and throughout our valley.

>> Planned street briefings throughout the area. - 16/05/2012

From PCSO Crowdey;

Due to our PACT priority in this area, we plan to hold various street briefings to raise awareness of metal theft and to promote crime prevention measures within our community.  Our officers are actively stopping and checking vehicles  carrying scrap metal or similar. The street briefings will be carried out over the next few weeks and further updates on our progress will appear on this page.

>> Lead Thefts - 11/05/2012
Due to the increase in theft of lead from buildings NPT officers are conducting increased patrols in the Mountain Ash area during late evenings.

Conclusion

What we did
After stop checking scrap vehicles, several street briefings and our ongoing Operation Empire, it was decided that this priority should be finalised in favour of more pressing matters such as our seasonal park problems.
