The Gwaun Cae Gurwen/Cwmgors Ward is mainly a residential community situated in the Amman Valley and is part of the County of Neath and Port Talbot.

Gwaun Cae Gurwen and Cwmgors is a peacefull community and is mainly residential it consists of 2 Welsh Language Schools, 1 Post Office, 3 Chapels, 1 Church, 1 Rugby Football Club 1 Public House 1 Motorcycle Club, 2 Community Centres and numerous small retail outlets.

The Local Industrial Estate has a wide range of light industries such as Joinery, Garage Services and Engineering Services.
