Inspector Andy Jones
I am Andy Jones, the Inspector for the Rhondda. I have been serving with the Police for the past 25 years having worked as Constable, Sergeant and Detective Inspector in the Rhondda area during my service.
Fortunately I have a wide variety of roles within the service from Community to CID to Major Crime. What these roles have taught me is the importance of working with a good team of officers who are willing to make a difference. Having worked all over the force area I have been extremely impressed by the way the officers here not only give their best but also feel part of the Community. That is in no way all their own doing but it is part of the way you as a community allow us to Police by consent with the assistance and favour of you all.
My aim is that my officers and myself can be of assistance not only when you need us but at times before a problem arises through proper intervention and pre-emptive problem solving. As you are aware in these times of austerity there is a worry that public services will be effective. I can assure you that my goal is not only to maintain these services but also improve them with an addition of more staff shortly to the Neighbour hood Police Teams in both the Fach and Fawr.
We aim to improve your ability to contact us not only through PACT meeting but a variety of surgeries at local community centres, shopping centres, medical centres and OAP centres. Additionally you can contact us through 101 , Crimestoppers and even via Twitter.
At this time crime in the Rhondda is at an all time low compared to previous years and is continuing to drop which demonstrates our commitment to keeping you and your neighbourhood safe.
I look forward to meeting you at the local PACT meetings and should you have any issues please contact me at Ton Pentre Police Station.
