Cardiff Police Licensing Department
Cardiff Licensing Department has the responsibility for monitoring and regulating licensed premises throughout the City of
Cardiff.
There are currently over 1300 licensed premises throughout
Cardiff and this large volume brings about its own challenges.
Sergeant Scott Lloyd has responsibility for the day to day running of the team which is made up of a further 4 officers.
These include PC Tony Roach, PC Lynda Howells, Tony Bowley and Huw Tyler.
The team is extremely dynamic and all members are passionate in providing the best service possible to the community we serve.
Members of the team have a vast knowledge in policing
Cardiff and are able to fall back on over 90 years of policing experience.
We have responsibility for monitoring the Traffic Light System which is South Wales Police’s early intelligence tool that identifies problematic licensed premises.
By working in partnership with management and staff at licensed premises alcohol related violent crime which may be attributed to licensed premises is at an all time low.
