Why is the parking restrictions being ignored in Park Road.Gorseinon. Cars are being left there all day on the yellow line which is taken for granted as OK. This has been going on for ever. You can never drive through without being held up?

Our bobby webmaster replied:

We can understand your frustrations where people park their vehicles indiscriminately, causing a great deal of annoyance to residents in the area.

The local neighbourhood team have been made aware of this problem and will be monitoring the area. Where offences are being committed they will be dealt with appropriately.

Unfortunately the sender of this message did not leave any contact details so we are unable to speak directly to you. the yob culture needs to be stopped now..there is no respect in the youth of today for their elders(apart from a minority).shouting, swearing, and aggressive backchat when approached are nowadays the usual behaviour of the YOB. I have a 17 month old son who is a bit difficult to get to sleep when there are obsenities being shouted in the street.I do not want him learning that sort of language at his age.If these louts were over 18 they would be arrested and charged with their behaviour.I also have a stepson whom I have cared for the past 8 years ,, is he on the streets causing upset, No he has been brought up to respect others... Please sort this problem out

Thank you for your comments. I can understand how distressing it must be for someone living in an area where some of the youths are affecting your quality of life. We all wish there was a simple solution to Anti Social Behaviour, but unfortunatly there isn't.

However there is a great deal of work being done within Swansea to tackle this problem. For example officers are working within the schools to educate youngsters from an early age about the effect behaviour can have on others. There are also lots of youth clubs and programmes going on to re direct youngsters from causing problems on the street.

Unfortunatly you have not left any contact information for us to speak to you directly about the problems you are experiencing. If you prefer to discuss this problem in private why not get in touch with your local community support officer, thier number is published on the Gorseinon page or go along to your next PACT meeting where you will get the chance to highlight the problem and discuss ways of resolving it.

I hope this information will be useful to you and the start of resolving your problem.
