Youth Annoyance general non alcohol related

Summary: Residents are concerned that due to the school holidays, there will be an increase in Youth annoyance incidents.

>> High Visibility Patrols - 19/09/2012

Between 08/09/12 to date, a number of high visibility patrols have been conducted throughout the Mount Pleasant area with particular attention being paid to the identified hot spot areas for youth annoyance and/or anti social behaviour.

Between the above dates all has been in order and no incidents reported.

High visibility patrols will continue on a regular basis, targetting any persons responsible for annoyance in the area.

>> Positive action - 08/09/2012

Between the 01/09/12 to date a number of youths have been spoken to at North Hill and Norfolk Street in relation to anti social behaviour and youth annoyance.

It would appear there has been an increase in youth annoyance at Brynsifi Way, North Hill, Norfolk Street and  Rhondda Street which has led to a new patrol strategy being designed in order to target persons responsible.

>> High Visibility Patrols - 18/08/2012

Between 01/08/2012 to date, a number of high visibility patrols have been conducted throughout the Mount Pleasant community with particular attention being paid to the identified hot spot locations for anti social behaviour and/or youth annoyance.

Between the above specified dates, all has been in order and no reports of anti social behaviour/ youth annoyance has been received.

High visibility patrols will continue on a regular basis, targetting any persons responsible for causing annoyance.

>> High Visibility Patrols - 06/08/2012

Between the 07/07/12 to date, high visibility patrols have been increased throughout the Mount Pleasant area in light of the current school holidays. Between the above dates, all has been in order and no reports of anti social behaviour and/or youth annoyance incidents have been reported.

>> High Visibiity Patrols - 07/07/2012

As a result of an increase in Anti social behaviour and youth annoyance, a patrol strategy has been put in place, targetting all areas identified as hot spots for ASB and/or youth annoyance.

Between 25/06/12 to date all has been in orders and no incidents have been reported.

High visibility patrols will continue on a regular basis taking into consideration the school holidays.

ASB has been discussed with local schools, offering education to youths where possible and the "Deputy Sheriff" project has been conducted at local schools which addresses anti social behaviour with youths and the possible impact being involved in youth annoyance has, advising them of how to contact police and report such matters where appropriate.

>> High Visibility Patrols - 17/06/2012

Between the 06/06/12 to date, a number of high visibility patrols have been conducted throughout the Mount Pleasant area, paying particular attention to North Hill, Norfolk st, Rhondda St, The Mount Pleasant old hospital and surrounding areas where an increase in Youth annoyance has been reported.

Between the above dates, all has been in order and no incidents have been reported in relation to Youth annoyance and/or ASB.

High visibility patrols will continue on a regular basis, taking positive action against persons responsible for ASB.

>> High Visibility Patrols - 09/06/2012

A number of concerns were raised at the last pact meeting dated 31//05/2012 in relation to youth annoyance and ASB at the North Hill location and in particular Short St and surrounding areas.

As a result of this information a number of high visiblity patrols have been conducted at the specified locations with a view to target any persons responsible for and/or party to ASB.

Between the 31/05/12 to date, all has been in order and no further reports of asb/ annoyance received.

Targetted patrols are to continue on a regular basis, taking positive action where necessary.

>> Targetted Patrols - 19/05/2012

Between the 01/04/12 to date, a number of High Visibility Patrols have been conducted throughout the Mount Pleasant area, paying particular attention to the identified hot spot locations for Youth annoyance and general ASB.

Between the above dates, it has been reported there has been an increase in Youth related ASB along North Hill and the Short St location. As a result, high visibility patrols will continue on a regular basis at the identified times taking positive action with those persons responsible.

A class assembly was also conducted at Terrace Road school on 10/05/12 with the year 5 pupils where I discussed Anti social behaviour, raising awareness with the young people and stressing the importance of reporting such matters appropriately. The assembly was a success whereby a number of questions and concerns were discussed.

>> Youth annoyance - 15/05/2012
Ongoing patrols in the area have been undertaken in the area to tackle ongoing issues with youth annoyance, a number of youths have been spoken too and advised on their behaviour.
>> High Visibility Patrols - 21/04/2012

Between the 01/03/12 to date a number of high visibility patrols have been conducted throughout the Mount Pleasant area with particular attention being paid at the identified hot spot areas for Young Annoyance and/or ASB.

In addition to this, the "Deputy Sheriff Project" is being re-introduced in the next few weeks at Terrace Road School, whereby the year 5 pupils are going to have a responsibility for looking out for any ASB or general annoyance in and around their communities during the school holidays.

It is anticipated this will have a positive impact on the Mount Pleasant community as it has been well received in previous years and provides the young people with a sense of responsibility.

Patrols have been increased in the area and no incidents have been reported to officers in relation to youth annoyance.
>> High Visibility Patrols - 27/12/2011

Between 01/12/11 to date, a number of High Visibility Patrols patrols have been conducted throughout the Mount Pleasant area, with particular attention being paid to Rhondda St, Norfolk St and Terrace Rd.

Between the above dates, all has been in order with no incidents of Youth Annoyance/ ASB reported over the Christmas Period.

Attention will continue on a regular basis, targetting any persons responsible for Anti Social behaviour in the area.

>> Additional Patrols - 11/12/2011

Between the 01/12/2011 and 11/12/2011, a number of patrols have been conducted throughout the Mount Pleasant area with particular attention being paid to Rhondda St, Norfolk St and surrounding areas. Between the above dates, all has been in order with no incidents of Youth Annoyance and/or Anti Social Behaviour reported.

High Visibility Patrols will continue on a regular basis, with particular attention being paid to the identified hot spots for ASB, taking positive action where necessary.

>> ASB Patrols - 30/10/2011

Between 29/09/2011 to date, a number of High Visibility Patrols have been conducted by Officers with particular attention paid to the identified hot spot areas for Anti Social Behaviour.

Over the next few weeks, additional resources will be deployed within the Mount Pleasant, Uplands and Brynmill area in an attempt to minimise any Anti Social Behaviour that may arise as a result of Halloween and Bonfire Night.

Posters have placed in shops advising staff of restricting sales of eggs, flour etc...

Additional attention is to be paid on a regular basis, taking positive action against those responsible for any Anti Social Behaviour and/or youth annoyance.

>> High Visibility Patrols - 11/09/2011

Between the 01/08/11 to date, a number of High Visibility Patrols have been conducted by Officers in relation to potential Anti-Social Behaviour as a result of the school holidays. Between these times, all has been in order, no reports of youth annonce.

High Visibility patrols will continue on a regular basis, ensuring to pay attention to the identified hot spot locations and taking positive action where necessary.

>> Youth Annoyance - 28/08/2011
Patrols have been ongoing in the area, a number of youths have been spoking too.  No other incidents regarding this have been reported to myself.
>> High Visibility Patrols - 06/08/2011
Between the 26/07/2011 to date, a number of High Visbility Patrols have been conducted throughout the Mount Pleasant area with particular attention being paid to the identified hot spots for Youth Annoyance. Between the above dates, all has been in order, no complaints received in the area. Patrols will conitnue on a regular basis.

Conclusion

What we did
High visibility targetted patrols at hot spot locations prior to and throughout the school holidays have been conducted. During this period there has been a significant decrease in youth annoyance. It has been decided by attendees at the recent meeting dated 27/09/12, this is no longer a priority for the residents of Mount Pleasant.
